Building Maintenance Technician

   

Appraisal Assistant (Residential Department)

   

Building Maintenance Technician

Description:

  • Performs electrical, plumbing, and general repairs on buildings, machinery, and/or equipment. Candidate will be required to move equipment and furniture, sets up meeting rooms and performs light cleaning. The Building Maintenance Technician reports to the Sr. Building Engineer or in his/her absence to the Assistant Director of Administration.

Requirements:

  • Repair or replace basic electrical items such as lighting ballast, receptacles, light switches, circuit breakers, light bulbs.
  • Performs basic plumbing repair or replacement such as toilet flush valves, faucets, drains, toilet and urinal removal and replacement.
  • Paints and repairs dry walls and textures.
  • Makes minor repairs of floors, ceiling tiles, and walls.
  • Repair and maintenance of landscape irrigation system.
  • Follows daily and periodic work schedules as well as preventive maintenance schedules as assigned by the Sr. Building Engineer.
  • Completes reports, work logs, and other documents as required by the Sr. Building Engineer.
  • Ability to lift and move desks, tables, chairs office and maintenance equipment.
  • Sets up and tear down meeting rooms.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on various building systems.
  • Changes filters, light bulbs, as well as clears drains and other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Performs light cleaning and "mop up" of spills, etc. as required.
  • Drives to DCAD facility immediately as required when on rotating 24 hour on-call schedule. Performs parts and materials pickup and/or delivery to and from facility as needed.

Compensation: Minimum Salary $29,925.00

Appraisal Assistant (Residential Department)

Description:

  • Provides a high level of appraisal assistance and administrative support to the Supervisor and Staff assigned to a given territory. Provides backup assistance to other support staff positions within the Division as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of office equipment and operations needed. Specific knowledge of related DCAD operations (or equivalent tax office operations) and procedures a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized skill test administered by the District.
  • PC experience preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and Microsoft Outlook helpful.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.

Compensation: $29,925.00
